Apr. 30 - MON - Morning flight from Addis to Bahir Dar, drive 32 km to visit the Blue Nile Falls, and after lunch make a boat excursion to visit the island monasteries of Ura Kidane Mihret (16th Century AD) and Azwa Mariam (16th Century AD). May 01 - TUE - Morning flight from Bahir Dar to Gondar which was the medieval capital of Ethiopia. At Gondar visit the 17th century Imperial Castle Compound (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the 'Bath of Emperor Fasiladas', and the church of Debre Birhan Sillassie. O/N - Goha Hotel

May 02 - WED - Fly from Gondar to Axum - the earliest capital of the country. Visit the Archeological Museum of Axum, the famous 'Stelea Park' (UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the church of St. Mary of Zion which is believed to be the last resting place of the Original Ark of the Covenant. May 03 - THU - Morning visit of the ruin palace and tomb of King Kaleb and his son, King Gebre Meskel (6th Century AD), and then the palace of the Queen of Sheba (9th Century BC). Then, fly to Lalibela - home of the 12th century hand carved rock churches of King Lalibela (UNESCO World Heritage Site). May 05 - SAT - Morning will be a leisure time which can be spent in visiting more of the churches.
