Culinary Tourism Part One - Culinary Tourism Part Two

The EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival celebrated its tenth year with three days of entertainment, cooking classes
& demonstrations by celebrity chefs, and of course, non-stop eating. The festival kicked off with the first Celebrity Chef
Throwdown between Bob Blumer, Rob Feenie, and David Rocco. Erin Cebula of Global and Entertainment Canada hosted and judged summer picnic dishes made by each chefs, which had to be created in 20 minutes using a secret ingredient: kale. David Rocco won with his alluring Spaghetti Carbonara.

35,000 attendees flocked to BC Place Stadium over the three days, with over 250 exhibitors to learn from and sample goodies, from Swiss cheese to pesto and curry sauces, lollicakes, and macaroons. EAT! Vancouver also hosted three competitions: The Western Regional Barista Championships, BC Chefs Chocolate Competition, and BC Chefs Grand Culinary Salon. Each creation was an amazing display of creativity and detail.

While also taking part in the Bite of Vancouver Pavilion, Wine, Beer and Spirits Pavilion, seminars, and the first-ever Pop-Up
Culinary Centre, attendees toured the world at the 6th annual World Culinary Travel Expo, learning about the latest culinary
travel destinations, which included the Philippines, Oaxaca, Mexico, Peru, and Louisiana, USA. Until next year!
