ST PETERSBURG, Russia - Italian designer Mauro Adami, renowned for his 2008 Platinum wedding dress worth nearly $400,000, showcased his new 2016 collection of wedding dresses at Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg on October 10, 2015. The Wedding Fashion Show at Corinthia St Petersburg saw 20 dresses from the 2016 collection showcased. CORINTHIA HOTELS IN MALTA AND RUSSIA
BAG TRAVEL INDUSTRY ‘OSCARS’
18TH October 2012 - Corinthia Hotels announces that its five-star Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa in Malta and its Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg in Russia, were among Europe's travel elite to walk off with top honors at a World Travel Awards (WTA) ceremony hosted in the Algarve on Saturday 6th October 2012. The former has been voted ‘Malta’s Leading Hotel’ for the fourth consecutive year, whereas the latter was named ‘Russia’s leading Conference Hotel’.
The luxury Corinthia Hotels brand is this year celebrating its 50th Anniversary.

Other Corinthia hotels that featured prominently among the WTA finalists in various categories included the Corinthia Hotel London, Corinthia Hotel Budapest, Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay and Corinthia Hotel Lisbon.
Hailed as ‘The Oscars of the Travel Industry’ by the global media, World Travel Awards is acknowledged across the globe as the ultimate travel accolade, and highlights and rewards those travel brands that have made the greatest contribution to the industry over the past year. A packed delegation of VIPs, senior tourism figures and international media travelled from 35 nations to attend the event.

Set in extensive landscaped gardens, the Corinthia Palace Hotel & Spa, the ‘Grand Lady’ of Malta’s luxury hotels, was the very first hotel to fly the Corinthia flag when it opened in 1968 in the presence of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.  Since then, the world renowned hotel has become the benchmark for excellence in Malta’s luxury hotel sector and the catalyst for the worldwide expansion of the ‘Corinthia Hotels’ brand.
Following extensive refurbishment and restructuring work, the 400-room luxury Corinthia Hotel St Petersburg was re-launched with more bedrooms and more facilities under one roof than any other luxury five-star hotel in the City.  The hotel, together with grand properties on either side of it on the city’s main boulevard, was acquired as an operating hotel in 2002 by International Hotel Investments plc. (IHI).

IHI, which is the owner, developer and operator of all Corinthia Hotels, has since invested a further Euro €100 million in the total refurbishment of the original hotel, complete with a new grand foyer, a new restaurant and new bars. The adjoining buildings on either side of the hotel were demolished and carefully reconstructed with ornate facades matching their original splendour, rebuilt using traditional techniques. The hotel also has the city’s first grand ballroom in a five-star hotel.

Underlining the depth and quality of the travel and tourism sector across Europe Graham E. Cooke, President and Founder, World Travel Awards said: “During times of economic austerity world-class brands come into their own, and the winners at our Europe Ceremony represent the cream of the continent.”

About Corinthia Hotels

Governor Valentina Matvienko and International Hotel Investments Chairman Alfred   Pisani  at the foundation stone laying ceremony.

CORINTHIA NEVSKIJ PALACE HOTEL, ST PETERSBURG, RUSSIA

The extension and refurbishment project of the Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel as the leading hotel in St Petersburg, Russia, took a major step forward with the laying of a foundation stone by her Excellency Valentina Matvienko, Governor of St. Petersburg.

The Chairman of International Hotel Investments plc (IHI), Mr Alfred Pisani, visited St. Petersburg for the occasion and affirmed IHI's commitment to invest further in the City. "We are very confident of the future of St Petersburg, both as a tourism destination, as also as an important political and economic hub. This augurs well for our project, and indeed underpins our decision to invest a further Euro 75 million in the Nevskij Palace Hotel, by way of upgrading the current facilities, as also re-developing three buildings on either side of our property", Mr Pisani told guests attending the ceremony.

Governor Matvienko welcomed the investment and confirmed the City's commitment to supporting IHI's plans for St Petersburg. The Nevskij project is scheduled for completion in late 2007.

The project features the refurbishment of all public areas in the current hotel and principally the total re-organisation of the hotel lobby, befitting a world-class sense of arrival. The project will also include the upgrade and redevelopment all the hotel's restaurants.

In addition, the project will feature the extension of the Hotel into the adjoining building at 59 Nevskij Prospekt. This extension will house an additional 105 executive standard bedrooms and a 250m2 Presidential Suite, bringing the hotel's total inventory to close to 400 bedrooms. The new bedrooms will be supported by a separate executive club lounge, where guests can avail themselves of separate check-in and lounge facilities. Besides, the extension will feature the city's first hotel conference centre, with some 14 state-of-the-art meeting rooms including a Grand Ballroom. Over 1,000 guests can be accommodated in the conference centre, thus enabling Corinthia to internationally market St Petersburg as a top class destination for meetings and events for international companies.

At 55 Nevskij Prospekt, the project will feature the development of Nevskij Plaza, a prestigious, elite commercial centre. The first two floors of Nevskij Plaza will house exclusive and upscale retail outlets, while the remaining six floors will accommodate premium offices for rent. To provide ease of access and comfort to tenants, guests and customers, the commercial centre will be directly connected to a purposely-built multi-storey car park in Stremyannaya Street.
