REGISTRATION TERMS AND
CONDITIONS
(Please
read carefully)
WHO
MAY ATTEND
All
members of the Africa Travel Association
(ATA) in good standing or invited guests
of ATA may attend and participate at ATA's
Cultural and Ecotourism Symposium.
Membership dues for the current year must
be paid in full to qualify for Symposium
Registration.
REGISTRATION
FEE
The
Registration Fee includes: bed and
breakfast charges for five nights at the
designated Hotel(s); all scheduled working
sessions and sponsored meals as set forth
in the official program. Sightseeing and
local transportation may be provided by
the Host Country free of charge. No credit
will be given to delegates who arrive late
or leave early, nor for any other unused
services in connection with the Cultural
and Ecotourism Symposium.
Full
remittance of the Registration Fee must
accompany each Registration Form and must
be paid in U.S. dollars by check, money
order, by charge to American Express, or
by international bank transfer drawn on a
U.S. bank. All payments must be made to
Africa Travel Association. Registrants
from overseas may effect their payments
through bank transfer to the Africa Travel
Association c/o Fleet Bank USA at 592
Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10036, Account
Number 2101-62-5661, bank transfer number
021-200-339, bearing the words "without
charges to the beneficiary".
LATE
BOOKINGS AND ON-SITE PAYMENTS
PERSONAL
OR COMPANY CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
FROM ON-SITE REGISTRANTS. Late bookings
and on-site payments for membership dues
and Registration Fees must be in U.S.
dollars or travelers checks made payable
to the Africa Travel
Association
HOTEL
ACCOMMODATIONS
Your
Registration Fee provides accommodation
for five nights at the designated Hotel(s)
and covers breakfasts, taxes and other
services as described above. Charges for
early arrivals or late departures are
payable directly to the hotel by
individual delegates. If you registered
for double occupancy but you did not
provide your own roommate, you will be
charged the single occupancy rate. ATA is
not responsible for providing
roommates.
PERSONAL
EXPENSES incurred
by delegates in connection with the use of
the hotel rooms, including restaurant,
bar, telephone, telex or laundry charges
are the responsibility of the delegates
and must be settled with the hotel upon
checkout. No charges will be accepted by
the hotel for the Association's account
unless such charges are authorized by the
Executive Director.
HOTEL
ROOMS will
be assigned on a space-available, first
come, first served basis and ATA reserves
the right to allocate delegates who book
late to hotels other than the selected
Cultural and Ecotourism Symposium hotel(s)
listed on the reverse, should this be
necessary.
LIMITATION
OF LIABILITY
Since
many of the services at the Cultural and
Ecotourism Symposium will be provided by
the local suppliers and vendors over whom
ATA has no control in respect of their
operations, equipment and personnel,
neither ATA nor any of its officers,
directors or staff can assume
responsibility for any personal injury,
property damage or loss which may be
occasioned by reason of:
1.
Wrongful or negligent acts of omissions by
the suppliers or their
employees.
2.
Any defect or failure of any vehicle,
equipment or other instrumentality owned,
operated or otherwise employed by such
governmental organizations or other
suppliers.
3.
Any wrongful or negligent act or omission
on the part of any party not under the
direct control of the Africa Travel
Association.
In
the event of the occurrence or likelihood
of the occurrence of any extraordinary
circumstance which may cause or create
extraordinary risk of severe injury or
damage (including but not limited to any
acts of god, fires, explosions,
earthquakes, floods, elements of volcanic
eruptions, strikes, riots, civil
commotions, epidemics, war, rebellion of
harmful acts for political, terrorist of
other similar purposes), ATA reserves the
right to assess the risk of injury or
damage, and in ATA's sole discretion, to
determine whether to cancel or otherwise
limit the Cultural and Ecotourism
Symposium and its activities. Should the
Cultural and Ecotourism Symposium be so
canceled or limited for reasons of safety
beyond ATA's reasonable control, failure
by ATA to perform further obligations
relative to the Cultural and Ecotourism
Symposium will not be considered a breach
of any contract to hold such Cultural and
Ecotourism Symposium. ATA cannot, in any
event, assume responsibility for any loss,
cost or damage resulting from such
extraordinary circumstances, or any
subsequent cancellation or limitation of
the Cultural and Ecotourism
Symposium.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations
must be in writing and will be treated as
follows: A minimum cancellation fee of $75
will apply. Cancellations received between
October 17-November 6, 2002 will be
subject to a 50% fee. No refunds will be
made after November 7, 2002.
INSURANCE
It
is strongly recommended that the Delegate
take adequate insurance cover for
cancellation, personal accident, medical
expenses, personal liability and loss of
baggage. (N.B. the aforementioned cover is
merely a suggestion and not an exhaustive
list). ATA will not be responsible if the
Delegate fails to take adequate insurance
cover. Contact your insurance agent for
more details.
