Highlights from the September 23rd concert event at Pier 16 at South Street Seaport included a roster packed with South Africa's most acclaimed artists. Among the acts were smooth jazz great Joe McBride; Nothembi, the queen of Ndebele music, and a true master of the harmonious Zulu accordion and guitar; The audience was also treated to a pre-concert performance by Juxtapower South Africa's Song and Dance (sponsored by the South African Consulate); and drumming by Lucky Ngema, who performed in The Lion King.
