We at ATA and Africa Travel Magazine are proud members of T.I.E.S (The International Ecotourism Society}. Representing a worldwide network of 1700 members from 55 professions and 65 countries, the Society provides the most comprehensive and effective way to remain current in this dynamic field. We'd like to invite you to the growing ranks of ecotourism professionals who are working with TIES to make tourism a viable tool for conservation and sustainable development. TIES Newsletter: Quarterly international news on cutting-edge issues and the latest ecotourism events and publications.

International Membership Directory: Our worldwide listing of ecotourism professionals.

Online Member Resource Center: Available to all TIES members, this valuable password enables access to the Ecotourism Explorer's Member

Tour Operator and Ecolodge Listing: Complimentary listing for all Institutional level tour operator and lodge members on the TIES website with web and e-mail links.

How Much Does It Cost To Join?

Student ($35.00 USD) : Student membership is offered for full-time students unable to join at a higher level. They receive the TIES newsletter and discounted publications as well as member access to the entire Ecotourism Explorer website. Other benefits are available on a pay basis. Members at this level are not included in the Membership Directory.

Ecotourist ($35.00 USD) : Appropriate for individuals who support the goals of TIES but are not currently working in the field of ecotourism. Ecotourist members receive the quarterly newsletter and discounts on TIES publications. Other benefits are available on a pay basis. Members at this level are not included in the Membership Directory

Professional Membership ($75.00 USD): For PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUALS with an interest in ecotourism. Members at this level receive the quarterly TIES Newsletter, discounts on publications, inclusion as individuals in the annual TIES International Membership Directory, a complimentary copy of the Directory, and member access to the entire Ecotourism Explorer website. Print-outs of contacts from the TIES database are available for $10.00 USD per request.

e-Professional Membership ($60.00 USD): e-Professional Members receive the same benefits as Professional Members, but at a 20% discount. These "e-Members" receive no printed material from TIES and receive all their benefits electronically via email and the Ecotourism Explorer website.

Institutional Membership ($150.00 USD): This level of membership is intended for ORGANIZATIONS AND GROUPS. Membership benefits will be offered for up to three individuals at the same mailing location. In addition to the benefits of professional membership, Institutional members have their organization recognized (rather than an individual) in the Directory and other notices, receive free print outs of contacts from the TIES database, and are eligible for the TIES Tour Operator,

Ecolodge, or Consultant Service listing: e-Institutional Membership ($120.00 USD)
e-Institutional Members receive the same benefits as Institutional Members, but at a 20% discount. These "e-Members" receive no printed material from TIES and receive all their benefits electronically via email and the Ecotourism Explorer website.

Associate Institution ($500.00 USD): To recognize the contribution of our Associate Institutions, this level of membership receives the benefits of Institutional Membership as well as acknowledgment in one quarterly newsletter, a special featured listing in the Membership Directory with a brief organizational description, and complimentary print-outs of contacts from the TIES database.

Supporting Institution ($1,000.00 USD): In addition to receiving the benefits of our Associate Institutions, Supporting Institutions receive recognition in the TIES Newsletter for a full year, exclusive featured listing in the Membership Directory with expanded organizational description and logo, plus a variety of benefits specially customized to each organization's needs.
